The original Dixie Highway in Flagler County, Florida. The National Park Service added it to the US National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Construction began in 1915 and this portion is still usable. This was the Eastern Section running from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Miami, Florida. My wife and I drove its nine mile length. I can imagine the trouble a flat tire must have caused. In 1929 my grandmother drove my mother and my uncle down this very road in a Model T.
