These two bighorn rams pawed at grass hidden beneath a frozen crust. I found them near sunset. As I peered over a ridge to get the shot they lifted their heads to smell the air. The bighorns of Badlands National Park have survived significant conservation challenges and I was glad to get a glimpse of these healthy looking males.
