One of the perks of living in the dry Utah desert is the lack of mosquitos while hiking. Heugh's Canyon broke all the desert rules as we hiked under the shade of trees growing along a flowing stream. The gorgeous waterfall hidden around the bend of a boulder field was well worth the bug bites I received. Ecological niches are such a delight to discover!
