Capital Reef National Park is an under appreciated gem of petroglyphs, rock arches, and Utah's characteristic red rock. On our walk to visit a natural rock arch, we had an unexpected journey to the past. Smooth black boulders littered the ground, remnants of ancient landslides that carried basalt and andesite to the area millions of years prior. We always learn so much and experience a bit of history in visiting this nation's beautiful parks!
