We had just hiked up the steep cliff at the beginning of the Santa Elena Canyon trail in Big Bend National Park and were taking a moment to soak in the views of the valley and Rio Grande River below. It was beautiful and getting our youngest out in nature so young will instill a lifelong value on the importance of respecting and caring for our lands.
