This is a scenic shot of the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway in Wyoming. Lichen on a rock in the foreground gives testament to how old this area is, since lichen is a very slow-growing and long-lasting algea/fungus type of plant life. (It takes a year to grow 1-2 mm of lichen, and 25.4 mm make up an inch). Shoshone National Forest and North Absaroka Wilderness Area.
