Mount Baden Powell Monument Wally Waldron Tree- this limber pine tree is said to be the oldest in the San Gabriel mountains (more than 1,500 years old). It was named after a Boy Scout leader and volunteer. It is perched just below the summit of Mt Baden Powell where a monument was dedicated in 1931 to the Boy Scout's founder, Lord Baden-Powell. This tree reminds me of how we should be strong in spite of challenges that come our way as it has withstood wind, heat, snow, and other elements for hundreds of years!
