I hiked this Mesa Arch trail for the first time in Canyonlands National Park for scouting at night in order to capture the classic composition of sunrise at Mesa Arch. When I saw the beautiful galaxy, suddenly I had the idea of combine the arch with the Milky Way and illuminate the foreground with my headlamp. To my surprise they aligned very well.
