Elk are a fairly common sight in Yellowstone National Park. This particular bull elk was very cooperative, posing for photos near the terraces on the north side of the park. Using a telephoto zoom, I was able to capture photos of this elk from a safe distance (beside a friendly ranger). In this particular photo, the elk almost appears to be smiling for the camera.
