The ancient bristlecone pine tree is the oldest living organism on earth. There are a few bristlecone pine groves in Great Basin National Park. Although a high-elevation hike is required to reach the grove, the reward is a surreal experience, being able to gaze upon ancient beings standing against the elements and time.
