Great Basin is a wonderful national park on the east side of Nevada. It features caves, mountains, a glacier, and bristlecone pines. One of its most prominent features is Wheeler Peak, a mountain that stands over 13,000 feet in height. On wind-free mornings, one can capture reflections of this great mountain in nearby Stella Lake. This is exactly what I encountered this particular morning. This photo captures the moment that alpenglow lit up the mountain, turning it almost purple.
