One of my favorite and a very challenging subject to shoot is a clearing winter storm and of all the places, at my favorite Yosemite National Park. As you shiver to the whumph of an avalanche in higher elevations with your feet dig deeply in a large pack of snow patiently waiting for dramatic scenes to unfold. This shot has been made at an iconic spot but for a fleeting moment not pointing my camera to the iconic view. I find it creatively very satisfying when this immersion is established with my surroundings to explore beyond the obvious (or rather this was obvious).
