Blue Ridge Parkway

While on a road trip, my friends surprised me with an unannounced stop at the iconic Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. The setting sun filtering through the leaves produced many magical views. This gorgeous historical site has so many photgraphic opportunities and is a definite "must-see."

Nice shadows and textures. A crop of a few inches off the top enhances the length of the mill building, the green and grey, and the shadow and light from the west onto the path. These old mills were quite a feat in their day and so important to feeding communities with harvested staple crops.
