We stood in middle of the sandstone surroundings, soaking in the steep silence. My kids learned what "defeaning silence" means as we explored the beautiful slot canyon at Tent Rocks. Our conversation rose and fell with the rise and fall of the trail and I delighted in making up stories with my children about the events that had transpired there and the secrets hidden away in the stone.
